Why consider it?
NOCO advertises the GB40 as a twelve-volt, 1,000-amp jump starter with reverse-polarity protection and a built-in light. Its purpose is emergency starting assistance, which makes it a different purchase from a garage battery maintainer.
The tradeoff
A jump pack takes luggage space and needs its own charge checks. The advertised amperage is not proof that it will start every motorcycle in every condition. Confirm battery compatibility in the manual, especially if your motorcycle has a replacement battery with a different chemistry.
Check before buying
Find the approved battery connection points and check whether the clamps can reach them. Read both the bike’s and the pack’s instructions. A pack cannot solve the underlying cause of a repeatedly flat battery, so leave room in your plan for diagnosis.
Our assessment
A sensible candidate for riders prioritizing emergency starting assistance and willing to carry the extra equipment. We have not performed starting tests, assessed its protective features or verified the manufacturer’s performance claims. Compare packed size and connection access before deciding.
